We call our Montessori preschool for children three through kindergarten our Casa or Children’s House, and we describe the curriculum as Primary. pdxMC has two Casa classroom communities, each with a Montessori certified teacher and two assistant teachers. Each classroom has twenty-five children of mixed ages. Our classrooms have a full compliment of Dr. Montessori’s didactic materials, and children in our classrooms have large blocks of unhurried time to work and play in the Montessori classroom as well as in our outdoor classroom.
